CCBC Executive Committee
Lee is the Chairman of the Canada California Business Council (CCBC). Lee has spent more than 12 years working with business and government leaders both in Canada and California to help facilitate job growth and increase foreign direct investment locally in the U.S.
In addition to the CCBC, Lee is the Vice President of Business & Marketing Partnerships for Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing, a division of Warner Bros. Entertainment and Time Warner Inc. Warner Bros. Worldwide Television Marketing is a full-service, in-house multiplatform agency comprised of Creative Services, Marketing/Integrated Marketing, Digital Media, Communications, Publicity, Audience Development/Social Media and Operations units serving all divisions of the Warner Bros. Television Group. This award-winning team continues to set industry standards with creative and impactful consumer, trade and business-to-business campaigns that contribute to WBTVG’s standing as the leading producer, distributor and marketer of live action and animated programming around the world.
Lee also serves on a number of non-profit boards including the LAPD Police Activities League, the Advisory Board of the Telfer School of Management at the University of Ottawa, the Advisory Board of the Southern California Technology Group and is a Charter Member of the Canadian C100 in Silicon Valley.
Prior to ERGO, Peter was Vice President at SAIL Capital Partners, a cleantech venture capital firm headquartered in California. While at SAIL, Peter reviewed new investment opportunities, accelerated business plans and opened new markets by developing strategic partnerships for SAIL.
Outside of investment management, Peter conducted market research at Citigroup, policy research at the US House of Representatives, was involved in operations and management of a privately owned real estate development firm as well as started, built and sold a web-services company.
Further to his work at ERGO and the Canada California Business Council, Peter serves on the Occidental College Board of Governors, American Hellenic Council Board of Directors and is a Charter Member of the Canadian C100. Peter was an Edmonson Fellow at the University of Southern California and is a graduate of Occidental College where he earned a B.A. in Political Science with an emphasis on Energy. Peter is a dual citizen of Greece and Canada and is able to converse in both Spanish and Greek.
Marie Bountrogianni, former Ontario cabinet minister, past president and executive director of the Royal Ontario Museum Board of Governors, and educational psychologist, has been appointed a distinguished visiting scholar at The G. Raymond Chang School of Continuing Education at Ryerson University. Her appointment is effective until September 30, 2012.
Elected to the provincial legislature in 1999, Bountrogianni represented the riding of Hamilton-Mountain for nearly a decade until her retirement from political life in 2007. She served as minister of a number of portfolios including Intergovernmental Affairs, Democratic Renewal, Children and Youth Services, and Citizenship and Immigration. During her time in office, Bountrogianni was instrumental in negotiating a number of landmark federal-provincial agreements and in introducing the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) which established Ontario as a world leader in accessibility.
As both a lawyer and a Certified Public Accountant, Marc combines his tax, accounting, and legal expertise to provide an integrated array of professional services to individuals and businesses. After beginning his professional career with Arthur Andersen LLP, where he regularly worked with Fortune 500 and high net worth clients, Marc went on to complete his law degree at Southwestern Law School in Los Angeles while also obtaining his CPA License.
Marc started his own firm in 2006 with the goal of providing clients service above and beyond the domain of ordinary law and CPA firms. Marc focuses specifically on providing tax and accounting advice to individuals, corporations, LLCs, partnerships, and S Corporations. Marc also regularly represents clients in legal matters related to business law, estate planning, employment law, personal injury, real estate law and immigration law.
Marc currently also serves as the treasurer of Canadians Abroad Inc. in addition to serving as a Vice President and a board member of the Los Angeles chapter of the California Society of CPA’s, which is the largest professional association for CPA’s in the United States.
Rene Bourdages is the Founder and CEO of Elevado Media, a boutique executive consulting and advisory company for filmmakers and television production companies. Elevado provides senior level consulting services for financing, marketing, and distribution of indie feature films and TV programming.
Mr. Bourdages is a veteran entertainment executive with more than 30 years of experience. Rene held many high level executive positions in Canada before his relocation to Los Angeles to focus his managerial skills on entertainment media consulting. He is responsible for the launch of two of Canada’s most successful TV shows in recent history: Star Académie and Occupation Double. Also, Rene is a member of the Academy of Television Arts & Science, the American Film Institute, and the Economic Club of Canada.
Jonathan Friedman is Senior Counsel at the law firm of Stubbs Alderton & Markiles, LLP. Jonathan’s practice focuses on venture capital and corporate finance, intellectual property licensing, mergers and acquisitions, securities law and general corporate and business matters. Jonathan has represented corporations and other entities in a wide variety of industries, including internet and e-commerce, apparel, medical devices, entertainment and high technology.
Jonathan received his Bachelor of Applied Science in Mechanical Engineering in 1998, his M.B.A in 2002, and his J.D in 2002, all from the University of Toronto. Jonathan is a member of the California Bar, the New York Bar, and the Massachusetts Bar. Prior to joining the Stubbs Alderton & Markiles firm in 2005, Jonathan was an associate at Testa, Hurwitz & Thibeault, LLP in Boston, where he was a member of both the Business Practice Group and the Patent and Intellectual Property Group.
James is the CEO and Managing Director of Cardinal Point Wealth Management. He specializes in managing the financial affairs of wealthy individuals, families and entities throughout the United States and Canada. James provides comprehensive investment, cross border planning and transition strategies and financial planning solutions to his clients.
Prior to working in the financial services industry, James owned and operated a number of international companies. His extensive business experience has given him an in-depth understanding of the needs of entrepreneurs and small business owners. James holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph, a Master of Science degree from York University, as well as a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Toronto.
